So, this happened on Saturday. While I had a great time, I would like to address something Rich told me he heard a lot of while he was waiting in line and I’m sure happens at a lot of concerts of all types: people who think they are the only “real” fans there.

Listen, nobody gives a crap if you can name every song and every album and every remix the guy ever made. Nobody cares if you think you like him more than everyone else does. And, nobody should care if some random person in Central Park happened to hear this while on their stroll, kinda liked it, and decided to buy a ticket on a whim and come hear the action up close. ‘Cuz you know what, I WANT this stuff to become more popular. The more people aware of EDM, the more clubs there will be to accommodate our taste, and the more performances we’ll have with bigger and better DJs.

For f’s sake, Ibiza gets Tiësto as a goddamn resident DJ. I’m not saying we don’t have great DJs stateside, but don’t you want to generate the demand that will bring over the great acts? Don’t you want to give the up and coming Tiëstos and Armins of America a leg (or a DJ booth) to stand on? Do you people seriously want to hear that repetitive junk at Pacha NY’s after-hours all the time? Do you want your friends to think that’s what electronic music is all about?

Come on. Get your head out of your ass and spread the good word.

A dude in a top hat handed me my AM New York this morning before I headed into the subway. I like top hats. Then he said something promoting Criss Angel.

Brains and money. I mean, c’mon.

I wish I was good at math. Or rich.

I couldn’t make it out to Ibiza or Amsterdam this summer but lots of great DJs are coming right to the city anyway. Also, my favorite club got shut down until August 20, so I gotta find something else to do on weeknights. Yes, weeknights. Meatpacking on weekends is for amateurs and the models & bottles crowd, especially in summer. I do love the Eurotrash though.

Anyway, here’s what I’m attending for sure:

21 – Cielo‘s back and I’ll be there for its return! I’m willing to brave the summer weekend crowd.

And of course there’ll be lots of other things sprinkled in there that haven’t made my radar yet. These things tend to be pretty spontaneous with me.

While I’m on it, I’d also like to extend a big middle finger to the folks behind the war on nightlife. I’m talking to you, undercover douchebags at Pacha last weekend.
